Tyler Hill, Jeff’s youngest son, is working on his National Honor Society project and is once again doing this fun IN PERSON run through Woodland Trails in Elk River, MN. All proceeds go to the JHLF, with 100% going directly to Air Force ROTC Cadet Scholarships!
Here is a letter from Tyler Hill:
Hello,
I am currently working on my National Honor Society project and have set up a 2-mile run/walk called Hillbilly’s Hero “Fun” Run as a way to raise money for the Jeff Hill Legacy Fund. For those who don’t know, the Jeff Hill Legacy Fund is a 501(c)3 nonprofit my mom started following my dad’s death in 2010 when he was killed in a C-17 plane crash while serving on active duty in the Air Force. The JHLF gives out educational scholarships to Air Force ROTC cadets at Universities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Alaska. So far, we have given out over $135,000 and have helped 80 cadets! I am excited to be an official board member and am excited to do all of these things in memory of my dad, including the opportunity to share some of his story with all of you.
As for the run, it will be happening on Saturday, May 4th at Woodland Trails here in Elk River. Check-in starts at 8:30 am with the race starting at 10:00 am. Thai 1 On food truck will be there starting at 10:30 am, along with a raffle, music, and a fun atmosphere with a patriotic theme, all to raise money for a great cause. If you aren’t able to make this event in person but still want to participate, we will have virtual option over Memorial Day weekend coming soon as well. Let us know if you have any questions and we hope to see you there. Thank you!
Tyler Hill
