About Chris

Chris Langley is a board member of the Jeff Hill Legacy Fund and is currently a First Officer at United Parcel Service (UPS) Airline, flying the 747 out of Anchorage, AK.  He also serves in the USAF Reserves at the 611th Air Operations Center.

Chris was born and raised in Mechanicsville, Maryland.  He attended the University of Maryland and earned his commission in the United States Air Force in 2005 through the ROTC program.  After graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology, he was selected to attend Undergraduate Pilot Training at Columbus Air Force Base, MS, where he first met Jeff Hill.  Following graduation in 2007, he was selected as part of the initial cadre standing up a new C-17 unit at Elmendorf Air Force Base, AK.  Chris flew in Alaska from 2007 to 2010, to include several missions and training flights with Jeff.  Following his assignment in Alaska, Chris and his wife Lauren were assigned to Charleston Air Force Base, SC to continue flying the C-17 from 2010 to 2014.  During Chris’s time in the C-17 he flew over 2900hrs, deployed 4 times in support of OEF and OIF, and finished his time serving as an Evaluator and Special Air Missions Pilot.    In 2014 Chris was selectively hired to fly the C-32 (757) for the 89th Air Wing, Joint Base Andrews, MD.  Chris was one of 32 pilots Air Force wide selected to fly “Air Force 2”, which not only transports the Vice President, but also the First Lady, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of State, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other national level leaders.  Chris served as an Air Force 2 pilot until he separated from active duty in 2018.

Upon starting his new civilian flying career at UPS, Chris, Lauren and their son Wyatt moved back to Anchorage, Alaska.  Chris’s earliest memory of Jeff was back in 2007 just as he found out he would be assigned to Alaska.  Chris was 1 of the first 2 UPT students to get the “surprise” slots to Alaska.  Jeff was so excited Alaska was in the drop that he tracked Chris down, told him to bring Lauren by his office and then proceeded to talk about how much of a blast we were going to have being assigned to Alaska.  He was right! —that is exactly why we have chose to come back and raise our family here!
